Data Scientist - Vehicle Routing Problems
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team and focus on solving complex Vehicle Routing Problems (VRP). You will develop and implement algorithms to optimize delivery routes, reduce transportation costs, and improve overall efficiency for our logistics platform.

Requirements
- •MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, or related field
- •Minimum 3 years of experience with optimization algorithms and solving routing problems
- •Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with optimization libraries
- •Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling
- •Knowledge of graph algorithms and combinatorial optimization
- •Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- •Good understanding of logistics and supply chain operations
- •Experience with large datasets and efficient algorithm implementation
- •Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- •Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
Responsibilities
- •Develop and implement algorithms for solving Vehicle Routing Problems
- •Optimize existing routing algorithms for better performance and solution quality
- •Research and integrate new techniques from academic literature into our solutions
- •Work with the engineering team to deploy models in production
- •Collaborate with product teams to understand and address customer needs
- •Analyze routing performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- •Develop approaches for handling real-world constraints (time windows, capacity, etc.)
- •Create metrics and visualizations to assess algorithm performance
- •Participate in regular knowledge sharing sessions with the data science team
- •Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in optimization and machine learning
