Position Overview

We're looking for a motivated thesis student to research and develop methods for measuring and optimizing CO2 impact in logistics operations. This internship offers an opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world sustainability challenges in logistics and transportation.

About the Role

As a Thesis Intern focused on CO2 Impact in Logistics, you will work closely with our data science and logistics teams to develop innovative approaches that can help our clients reduce their carbon footprint. You'll have access to real-world logistics data and be able to validate your research in practical scenarios.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainable logistics solutions while completing your thesis. Your research outcomes will be directly incorporated into our product development roadmap and potentially benefit customers across the transportation and logistics industry.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze methodologies for measuring CO2 emissions in logistics operations
  • Develop algorithms and models to calculate carbon footprints for different transportation modes and routes
  • Create a framework for optimizing routing decisions based on carbon impact
  • Analyze and visualize data to identify patterns and opportunities for emission reduction
  • Collaborate with the product team to integrate your findings into our logistics platform
  • Document your research process, methodologies, and findings for your thesis
  • Present your progress and findings to both academic and business stakeholders

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Logistics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills and interest in sustainability
  • Programming experience (Python, R, or similar)
  • Knowledge of logistics processes is a plus
  • Familiarity with carbon accounting methodologies is beneficial
  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with team members
